Café Pouchkine

When celebrating a dear friend’s birthday what better to do than eat cake and gossip outside. When her only two requisites were coffee and sweet treats, I knew exactly where to take her. Just like me on my first visit here, she was overwhelmed by choice staring in awe at all the magical patisseries in the counter. Café Pouchkine has that effect on people. I ordered the Napoléon which is essentially a mountain of vanilla cream wrapped in flaky pastry a l’orange. It is divine, if you’re even slightly partial to chantilly cream, you’ll love it. Having shared and tasted each others I can also vouch for the Or noir and rather intriguing coconut and raspberry dome which is surprisingly nice and almost transports you to a far away island even in the center of a busy street in Paris.
