Carousel Magic

Aren’t we all putting up with the monotony of life in the hope of a few wonderful moments when life is blissfully perfect? To my mind it seems so sad that we’re not finding pleasure in the daily duties which we’re obliged to fulfill, after all it is this which makes up the majority of our lives. I’m on a quest this month to live as happily as possible, to turn the mundane moments into the magic ones in learning to always appreciate the present. My mind often drifts to dreamier thoughts or future getaways so this will be no easy feat but I believe it is necessary to find magic in every task you do. Otherwise life will pass me by in a hopeful haze of day dreams and longings and I’ll look back and wonder why I had my head in the clouds instead of on the ground. Life will have slipped through my hands and I’ll regret not treasuring every single second. So instead of incessantly searching for the next perfect moment in time, I’m attempting to find perfection in every second of every day instead.

Beautiful post! I definitely feel the same way sometimes. I vowed to myself that this summer I would start living more in the present and appreciate the now.

I’m glad I’m not the only one – it’s so difficult to do especially with summer vacations creeping up but so worth it in the long run

oh my gosh, these words are me. I’m literally always daydreaming about the future and always have and this year I’ve realised I need to live in the present because otherwise I’m just setting expectations too high.
Also, these Eiffel Tower photos are some of the most beautiful Eiffel tower photos I’ve seen anywhere! which is refreshing because usually they are all the same.

Oh really Francesca I am so happy that you can relate – it really is going to be such a challenge but I figure that if we’re trying then surely we’ll be turning some of those moments into more magical ones. You are so sweet to be so complimentary – it means a lot to me to hear such positivism – thank you

Your tendency to drift to dreamer thoughts must be what helps give you such an incredible eye to find the most dreamy and beautiful details to shoot. It looks like your life is nothing but happy moments — but I know what you mean about getting bogged down in the day to day, and I admire your goal to find pleasure in normal duties instead of viewing them as tedious! After all, we only have today, and what we’re doing with each moment. Good for you setting this goal for yourself — and you’ve done such a good job articulating it here for us! Hope you’re having a May month full of pleasant moments =)

These photos are spectacular! I completely agree about enjoying every moment, it’s so difficult! I have to force myself to relax and take it all in. When I do I am so happy. But it is good to always have something to look forward to.

I know it really is a challenging thing to learn to do – I certainly am struggling but as long as I try to live with this mentality I’m convinced that I’ll be happier for it – thank you for your sweet worrds

I love your comment about turning mundane moments into magical ones – so true! And the carousel in front of the Eiffel Tower definitely qualifies as magical :)
