City Breaks

London

I recently booked a little trip to London to visit my best friend and one of the most inspiring souls I know. Prior to this trip I can’t really say that I loved London, I enjoyed the city yet found it a little too crazy and dare I say it a little too ugly, now I realise that I simply wasn’t frequenting the right places. This time I was little interested in the London eye and Oxford Circus but more intrigued by the farmer’s markets and the hidden gems. I had been dreaming of waking up at the crack of dawn to explore a different market every day, the smell of fresh peonies and the English etiquette and friendliness which I miss so dearly living under the often harsh scrutiny of Paris. It turned out to be the most perfect weekend I’ve had in a long long time. Every single person I encountered greeted me with a smile, offered me tips and engaged in conversation with me. I walked around the city with a huge smile on my face, constantly endeared by the kindness and affection of strangers towards myself and towards one another. Little things like fresh flowers being sold on every street corner for Valentine’s day and blooming cherry blossom trees added to the charm of an already wonderful weekend.

Really beautiful pictures of London. You can almost forget that the weather has been horrible lately. I love the bright coloured shop fronts.

Faye,

I can’t thank you enough for the sweet comment you left on my blog earlier today. Having you tell me that my photos where beautiful, was such a compliment, especially coming from you!! Your photos are incredibly stunning, and I can only aspire to take such pretty pics myself one day. I’m going to be honest, I had never been to your site before today, but I am already hooked and will most certainly frequent it often. I’ve only been to Paris once (and that too, alone), but I’m hoping to go back with my fiancé one day soon. If we do, I know I’ll be turning to all your advice in your posts.

Again, thank you for the encouragement, starting off a blog isn’t as easy as it seems, but receiving small comments from inspirational people such as yourself can make all the difference.

I’m already a huge fan of yours and can’t wait to follow along as you continue to post.

I’m so glad that I could encourage you – yes absolutely I completely agree it can be difficult start off but it helps when we all support one another :) and so far I’ve met so many supportive people which I’m so thankful for. You are so sweet your kind words really mean a lot to me. I hope my little Paris guide will help you a little when you do return to this wonderful city
