I thought it about time I shared another cafe with you all and what better than a cup of fresh coffee from the famed Coutume Institute? I’m a big fan of the original Cafe Coutume along rue Babylone so I am so glad to see more of their cafes opening up in response to the city becoming more knowledgeable about decent coffee. The Coutume Lab is exactly what it proclaims to be; a very modern, very white space resembling a science laboratory where the art of coffee making feels very much like a scientific experiment. The kind barista has clearly been well trained, producing three perfect lattes whilst happily chatting away and teaching us a bit about how the beans are roasted. Apparently you’re not to leave without sampling one of their wikipearls, an ice cream concoction which you eat with your hands yet which doesn’t melt no matter how long you hold it. All in all It was rather an intriguing experience, but one I would definitely recommend.
