Feature: Haleigh Walsworth of Making Magique

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been shooting with Haleigh Walsworth for Lancôme’s Paris Rendez-Vous blog. The idea is to follow an American around Paris, a girl with fluttery eyelashes who powders her nose on the left bank and tops up her rouge à lèvres at every coffee stop. Haleigh, was the perfect girl for the job, and she just so happens to be the single most inspiring person I’ve met.

Lancome Paris Rendez-vous

Not only is she beautiful, she’s also one of the kindest and most considerate souls I know. After being a loyal reader of her blog for a while I felt as though I knew a lot about her. I’d created an image of a care-free American girl in my mind, the kind who leaves her apartment in full length tutus to stroll the streets of Paris leaving a trail of ethereal magic behind her. She turned out to be all that and so much more.

A self-taught photographer with a natural talent behind the lens, she makes even the everyday look magical. Her photography has a whimsical quality which transports you to a rose-tinted world enabling you to escape the mundane if only for a short while. One of her aims for creating her blog was to sprinkle a little magic into people’s lives “through the small, sweet things which can often be overlooked”, she says. Each one of her posts tells a story in the most beautiful of ways; you enter her pastel-hued universe and follow her adventures around the city learning about her musings and insightful reflections.

When asked about her current partner she’ll tell you it was love at first sight. Within the space of a week they were head over heels in love, trying to work out the dynamics of a long distance relationship; “we’ll make this work,” they promised one another as they parted ways, a promise full of hope yet often broken among lovers. Two years down the line they’re still as much in love as the very first week they met, going against the grain and holding out for one another despite the miles between them. A delicate red heart etched onto the fair skin of her forearm reminds her to wear her heart on her sleeve, an endearing notion to live by and one which has enabled her to find her soul mate. That’s the thing about Haleigh, she has one of the biggest hearts you’ll come across.

I discovered Haleigh’s blog a few years ago, and I think she comes across as one of the sweetest bloggers I could hope to meet. I own my blue pettiskirt because of her :)

You two seem like the perfect creative pair.
