As I was flicking through some photos on a friend’s camera, I stopped abruptly when I saw an image of le Schmuck. How could I have lived in Paris for so long and not ever have come across this place? In retrospect I must have passed it a dozen times yet I probably had my head in the clouds, oblivious to my surroundings. Quite often I have to remind myself to tear my eyes away from the ground but to look up and appreciate the beautiful buildings which tower above me. Le Schmuck is a true coup de cœur, it is by far the most beautiful cocktail bar I’ve ever entered. On the inside ornate chandeliers hang from the ceiling and mismatched antiques fill the space. There is something so charmingly unique about the interior, it seems as though every piece of furniture has been individually selected to perfectly compliment the next. Each wall has been decorated with a handpicked wallpaper design, each one different yet equally as beautiful.

When my Mum was visiting me in Paris a little while ago, I knew I had to share this gem with her. We sat on the terrace with a view towards St Sulpice and held hands whilst talking for a couple of hours. I love having my Mum in Paris with me, its just so nice to have someone by my side at every moment for a little while. We attempted to order a couple of their very fancy cocktails however were told it was too early in the day, so settled for coffee instead. Ever since I’ve been dreaming of returning and sitting on the romantic Italian-esque terrace for a few drinks on a warm summer evening.

That’s the amazing thing about Paris. There’s always something new to discover, no matter how long you live there :)

Reading this made me smile, I can imagine myself sitting there on a lovely afternoon, with a cocktail! Paris is an amazing city, and altough I’ve only been there for 5 days, I often find myself missing it madly. You’re so lucky for living in there! :)

Ahh I am so glad! I know that feeling I’ve spent many months in the same boat! Yes I feel so thankful to be living where my heart is!

I cannot stop laughing at that name. As one of my favorite derogatory names to call people, I never thought a cocktail bar would be named that… :)

Haha I know right it is quite an unusual name! I read somewhere that it means ‘decoration’ or ‘jewelry’ in German so that might be where they got the idea from!
