City Breaks

Clint

I recently read an article in Cereal magazine differentiating between the New and the Old Paris.  It highlights the stereotypical Parisian traditions as part of the Old Paris but quite rightly states that a new movement is taking hold of the city in the shape of good quality food and service, the coffee evolution which everybody is talking about being a big part of this. If there were one place which epitomises this idea it would be Clint. A stone’s throw away from Père Lachaise, with its crooked graves and cobbled alleys lies a new, perfectly symmetrical space which goes against the Old Paris of slack service and watery coffee. What immediately strikes you about Clint is the beautiful light pouring in from the large bay window, even on a grey day which it far too often is in this city, the space remains bright and fresh. This also has much to do with the interior which is faultlessly designed in neutral hues of white walls and light wood features. I stopped in for breakfast and was happily full after their delicious granola and a large cup of latte made with the finest coffee beans from Belleville Brûlerie.

Leaving this modern space to walk through the cobbled paths of a cemetery steeped in history is perhaps proof that, as the article concludes, the two can co-exist.
