Iconic Halong Bay is one of Vietnam’s most famous sights and a designated World Heritage Site. Magnificent limestone karsts tower out of the emerald waters and you can’t help but feel dwarfed whilst cruising through them. I would highly recommend using Cát Bà Island as your base to visit Halong Bay. The island is beautiful and the ideal place to depart on a boat trip around Halong Bay and also less-explored Lan Ha Bay.
