There is something about Christmas in Paris which is magical. If Paris doesn’t feel like a dream over the winter months then it certainly does at Christmas time. Shops windows are transformed into winter wonderlands which catch your eye and draw you in for a while allowing you to momentarily forgot about the errand you were in the middle of running. The city glows under the blare of fairy lights which hang high above crisscrossing apartments. Madeleine would be one of my favourite areas if it weren’t the perpetual beeping of horns and busy roads. This area is home to the very first Ladurée tea salon, the world renowned art nouveau restaurant Maxim’s as well as a secret court lined with boutiques I can only dream of entering.
